Get ready for a monochromatic purple dream wedding at Mountain Shadows Resort – you’re in for a treat. If you’re dreaming of a luxury wedding in the heart of the Arizona desert, Mountain Shadows Resort in Scottsdale might just be your perfect match. With its sleek mid-century architecture, vibrant green lawn, and sweeping views of Camelback Mountain, it offers a backdrop that’s effortlessly modern and strikingly romantic.

For Double L, a beloved KNIX radio host, and her husband Jeremiah, this venue became the perfect setting for a day that was equal parts bold, stylish, and deeply personal.
Why Mountain Shadows Resort Is a Top Choice for Arizona Weddings
Mountain Shadows offers an iconic desert-modern aesthetic while still feeling intimate and intentional. The open-air ceremony lawn showcases the best of Scottsdale’s landscape, and the resort’s architecture blends classic luxury with modern lines. It’s a favorite among couples who want to host a celebration that feels elevated but true to their style.

For Double L and Jeremiah, it was a canvas where they could bring their vivid vision—and love for music, family, and fashion—to life.
A Wedding with a View—and Vibrant Purple Style
Nestled at the foot of Camelback Mountain, Mountain Shadows Resort set the stage for a truly one-of-a-kind wedding. The vibrant green lawn served as a perfect contrast to the couple’s monochromatic purple palette. But the real showstopper was the bride herself.
A local country radio personality with a bold sense of self, Double L walked down the aisle with purple hair cascading beneath a sheer purple veil, both adorned with intricate 3D floral appliqués. These same florals accented her custom gown and were thoughtfully carried through to Jeremiah’s bespoke tie and pocket square.

For the bride, purple was far more than a theme:
“It’s a special color to me. It brings me confidence and joy. I love seeing other people in purple as well. It’s also Jeremiah’s favorite color. In fact, he picked out my ring from a Colorado Rockies billboard before he ever even knew me. It was a Shane Company ad, and he saved it in his phone. Years later when he met me and realized my favorite color was purple, that worked out pretty cool.”
Music, Memories, and Personal Meaning
Music played a leading role throughout the celebration. Each reception table was named after a musician the bride has met or seen in concert, and guests found their seats via a “will call” ticketing display as a creative and symbolic nod to her roots in radio and live entertainment.

Later in the night, country music artist Adam Doleac took the stage to perform, giving guests a front-row concert experience in the middle of the desert.

But it wasn’t just about star power—it was about storytelling. The tables were adorned with pomegranates, a tribute to the bride’s grandfather:
“He used to grow pomegranate trees in his backyard. We’d pick them and peel them together—our hands absolutely stained. That’s the touch of the pomegranates.”
Adding more heart, disco ball planters held her grandmother’s 60-year-old pothos plant cuttings, some of which were even tucked into the bridal bouquet. These family nods brought deep-rooted love and presence into every part of the day.

A Tattoo Artist and Custom Hat Bar
Instead of a traditional guestbook or favors, guests were invited to get a tattoo from a licensed artist right at the reception—a permanent memento of an unforgettable night. And if that wasn’t enough, a custom hat bar let everyone design personalized headwear to take home. Stylish and unexpected, it perfectly reflected the couple’s unique personalities.
“We wanted our guests to feel seen, heard, loved, and WANTED at our wedding. We wanted them to feel like we planned it just for them—because we did.”
