How do we create authentic family portraits? Easy! For this session, letting the kids run around (safely) through these colorful sidewalks was the best way to showcase their adorable personalities. The best way to have authentic family portraits is to let your family be AUTHENTIC. We did exactly that during this session! I also love incorporating an activity or games throughout the session to help children relax + be themselves.
Choosing Outfits for Colorful Family Portraits
Creating authentic family portraits also includes your outfit choices. Each family is unique + your outfit selections should reflect that! This family chose blues + greens for their main colors. They combined different textures, patterns. The key to interesting, yet complimenting outfits is just that. Complimenting each other, but not “matching”!
How Activities Encourage Unique Family Portraits
Authentic family portraits happen naturally when you incorporate activities the family enjoys! Incorporating an activity into your family portraits has been one of my favorite ways to create unique opportunities for authentic images of your family. This can be as simple as playing “red light, green light” with kiddos. We tailor your activity to your family dynamics. So for this family we rewarded the kiddos with a walk to the ice cream shop. That simple activity was enough. Plus we got some cute ice cream photos too!
